I’m new here

We understand that visiting anywhere new can be a bit daunting and hope to answer some common questions.

When do you meet?

Our main service is 10:30am on Sunday morning.

What happens when you meet?

DSC_9555When we meet we speak to God as we sing and pray, we listen to him as the bible is read and explained. You can listen to our sermons online and get a feel for things. We sing a mix of traditional hymns and modern songs and we read from a contemporary translation of the bible (NIV).

After the service most people stay around for a cup of tea or coffee and a chance to chat.

What shall I wear?

Clothes! Some of our people dress formally, others wear jeans and a t-shirt. Come as you feel comfortable.

What about my children?

They are most welcome, we love to have little ones join us. Usually there’s a short talk directed specifically to children and a Sunday School is provided for pre-school and primary children during the sermon. If you’d like your child to remain in the sermon, a worksheet is usually available to help them listen. The service is relayed to a side room if you need to take younger ones out.

A toilet is available to the rear of the building.

What about money?

You’re our guest; we are delighted to welcome you and don’t expect anything from you. We sometimes take an offering during the service, feel free to let the bag pass by without feeling awkward.

Making a Quilt

David Garland’s excellent commentary on Mark tells this helpful story: “My wife has compared making a marriage to a making a quilt. She thought it would be a fun winter project that would fill a blank kitchen wall that begged for something. Though she had never made a quilt before, she envisioned something beautiful, unlike […]
